When I travel to a city, my first choice for accommodation is AirBnB. I love experiencing a city like a local – in an apartment or home, right in the middle of the action. I have visited Mexico City once before, and we stayed in an AirBnB. It was in a great location, just steps away from restaurants, shops, and bars. My husband and I will return again in September, so I’m on the hunt for another apartment in the city. I thought this would be a great chance to share with you some of my tops picks of places to stay in Mexico City!
Let’s check out our options!
The first thing I look for in an AirBnB is if the bed looks comfortable. I’m a bit of a bed snob, and if it looks like it has old, scratchy sheets, or a crappy mattress, I won’t look at the rest of the house. This apartment looks like it has a very comfortable bed. The location, garden, and newly renovated kitchen make this a great choice! We are traveling with my brother in law, so it would be nice to have two bedrooms. For that reason I’ll pass on this one, but it’s a great option for a romantic getaway!
This apartment is clean, large, and has great reviews – a good sign! I love the decor and it looks to be very centrally located. The lack of privacy in the bedrooms makes me pass – but it’s a great option for a girlfriends trip!
This one has great amenities (did you see that rooftop?!). Looks nice for a solo traveler or a couple. The only issue I have is that it only has one review. I prefer to stay somewhere that has a few more reviews to go off of, it just makes me a bit more confident in my choice.
DING-DING-DING! I think we’ve found a winner! This is located in Roma Norte, a super trendy neighborhood with great food and shops. It has easy access to many different parts of the city, while still offering a lot in the neighborhood. I love the layout, decor, and the patio – so darling!
Let me know if you’ve had any luck finding great AirBnBs! I’m always on the hunt for a perfect weekend abode!
